    My dad found this in a field while planting. Anyone have an idea what it might be from? We think it may be from old farm machinery. We live in Western Wisconsin. Thanks!

      I'm guessing that the squared part goes around the bottom of the axle housing to hold the axle in on a wagon, buggy etc.

      Also could have been a leaf spring shackle with the hook for a safety chain

      Well, we only see it from 1 view so we can't tell if there are bolt holes thru the strap.

      Yes, there are holes through the bottom part too.
