My hubby got these at auction a few weeks ago.I love them. The tip has hair (fur) of an animal and the bead looking things that jangle when shaken are actually teeth of an animal.
Any ideas on age history of what type of teeth???Or what type of ceremony & country?
Cheers Rose
UPDATE!
Our son was showing friends when he took the top comes off and they are actual spears. The metal looks old.One is shaped the other straight edge....
amazing!
My thoughts are south pacific or africa too.If I could identify the teeth I may get a bit closer.Any veterinary surgeons amongst us??lol
Any ideas?
sweet :)
Just found they are spears and have a blade. Will post pics

I found exact same at auction. Not much info though.
I have a funny story to tell.Thought I"d share with you.I decided to visit an antique shop the other day I was in the area and had seen this shops stuff on eBay.(very pricey)
Was admiring lots of goodies with the supposed owner (so he told me).He kept on bragging on how he had 5 shops, didn't need to work, largest elephant tusk in the world for sale at the moment.Largest Pro hart painting in Australia etc etc, when I came across some spears.I mentioned my husband had acquired a pair at auction with teeth and hair.He jumped up and said I know exactly what you mean and proceeded to show me the same as mine but smaller.I said wow yes they are.He said they come from Papua New Guinea.I said I wonder what the teeth and fur are to which he replied animal...lol
I said yes I realise that but wonder what type.He then replied I know but I am not telling you.I looked at him and said what do you mean.He said I would have to charge you for that information.I spend a lot of time here researching this stuff and then people like you come along and want my info for free.
(I understand experts do this for a living) but let me tell you he was no expert and his bragging and ego got to me.I replied
I guess you don't have many friends with an ego like that and no customers the whole time I was there.
He said f.... off
And don't come back
Lol
I won't
Since found out he only works there,so today I will be ringing owner to tell him he missed out on a $250 sale on the asian cricket box I potentially wanted to buy
He needed a lesson :-). Those teeth is a bit scary. If they are not big show them to your dentist, if they are large ask a vet or someone who knows about animals. Don't know what animals they have there but could it be horse or donky teeths or another related animal like that?
I think herbivour by the animal shaped teeth.
will have to wait till next weekend to ring shop.
MMMM lesson needs learning alright
