Mrs.Simpso…
(1 item)
Does anyone know what this pattern is and/or who the maker might be? I'm guessing maybe 1940's?? Underneath are raised tiny "bubbles" all over. The flower is a daisy, I'm thinking. Pressed glass? Or as early as Depression glass? I have six of these, 9 inches diameter.
Pressed glass/sandwich /etc ... beautiful :)
they are very pretty
It's my Great aunt's plates we are trying to find out about them just so we know lol
many glass companies made similar glass patterns which has become widely called "sandwich glass" because it closely resembles some early patterns of glass by Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. This one appears as unknown maker by a couple of online resources, and attributed as to possibly 1914 Inwald. I did find a similar plate in a 1914 Inwald catalog but this is not a match to that one; so likely unknown at this time.
a generally accepted thought is that if the flowers have a double outline then the pattern is by Indiana Glass; personally haven't tested that theory as there's a multitude of similar sandwich patterns.
maybe I was recalling that incorrectly; it seems that it is Anchor Hocking's that has the double outline on the flowers. Here's a link for some research and there are quite a number of online references about "sandwich glass":

any collector of a specific maker's line would likely recognize the differences quite readily.
