Eight-sided Hadeland Glassworks vase by Torvald Kildal Moseid and entitled “Lady of the Landscape” – etched or sandblasted. This example executed in 1948. It is 4.5 inches tall by 7.75 inches wide and marked “Hadeland 48. T.K.M. 586”.

Hadeland Glassworks has been in operation in Norway since 1762.

In connection with study and work in Europe and Asia he drew impressions from Classical, Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic art. He also worked with sandblasted glass. In 1995 Moseid was awarded the King's Gold Medal of Merit in Norway

      Gobsmacked!

This is incredibly beautiful...wonderful design, so well executed.
      Yes, surely this is rare?

Probably not common but I don't know about rare. It is a numbered design (586) so some were made, not unique - not sure how many. I also don't know if these were made for export or if this one somehow found its way here to the USA.
