My grandparents' chair (a matched pair actually) as far back as I recall (1960). Very sturdy, no nails (dowels only), much more comfortable than attractive, contour-recessed arms and seat, repaired woven leather back, cross-member reinforced base, stamped under seat with mark: "5363 5-450 1/2"
I'd love to know more about the source (maker) of these very comfortable old chairs.
