(2 items)
4.5 " long
2" ruler engraved into cutting blade
Tip of one blade looks like flat screw driver
Tip of other blade is shorter, pointed, has a circle notched out of it, and the outer edge seems to be a file (ribbed)
Where 2 blades meet, each one has a semi circle with teeth cut in
Brand name UNIVERSAL engraved on one side
'Germany' engraved on the other side
One finger hole has a little toothed wheel which looks like it would be used to imprint a cutting line (or like a pasta cutting wheel)
The other finger hole has a square notch and a smooth (not toothed) wheel
The screw (adjustable stopper) in the center screws out to a length of 1/4" but cannot be removed
There is a tiny round plastic "dot" at the base of one finger hole that goes through the entire thickness of the steel. UPDATE: upon further research, I have discovered the "dot" is a Stanhope Lens. If you put it right up to your eye, you see an image inside! I never heard of such a thing but just stumbled on it while trying to figure out what kind of shears these were! The image in this lens shocked me because they can be anything from family portraits to pets to landmarks etc. But mine happens to be risque, for adult eyes only! I don't know where we got these. Either from mom's estate or a yard sale-having no clue what they were!
I LOVE this! And I love that you didn't know it was a Stanhope until after you posted it! I collect sew, collect sewing related items, and collect erotica so this would be a wonderful surprise!
