These are two more of the 5 I picked up at a cbs , these are also well carved but not as good quality as my other listing, they are carved from a different wood totally black so possibly ebony , I love these sort of things and the work that goes into them.. they are 4 1/2" high and a different tribe !!

I would guess African Ebony based on the first picture. Not heartwood by any means.
