    Hello, from where? weighs about 2 lbs. 12" diameter. Maybe India or Arab countries? someone did a good job etching or carving this or maybe by machine? I do not think so. Thanks for looking!! toracat

      The bottom of the piece will show if it's pressed or hand done. Very, very involved pattern.

      I think it is hand done as the pattern is so different from preceding ones

      You should be able to see hammer marks, surely. I just see some ridges from turning?

      Hiya Torakitty....my guess...I think this is hand carved Chinese. Americans always seem to have the two layer (stepped) plates, it doesn't give me an India or Persia vibe because of the pattern...that's how I'd start tracking but...I don't know...
