Back in the day, the Silver City Casino was the place to hang out for 75¢ beers & craps. Unfortunately, this old Vegas landmark is a thing of no more. But this book of matches are an old fingerprint of what was once there. =)

The superb irony of this matchbook goes to the story of why the Silver City failed and eventually became a Ross.
They were the first Las Vegas casino to go 100% non-smoking. The policy lasted for two years in the early 1990s, and it nearly bankrupted them. They eventually brought back smoking, but it was too late. They were in the hole and a San Diego businessman swept in and bought the property, leveled it, and built a strip mall instead, giving up the gaming license. It is one of the highest volume Ross stores in the nation.
