This is a terracotta clay water bottle I think , it is made from what I would say is a porous type of clay as it has water staining around the sides at the bottom, it also looks quite old & has an almost carved looking design of I think scrolling fearn leaves & zig-zags , the top is also the cup when upturned, there is a name on the side which says 'uiko' or 'oiko' also stamped inside on the bottom the letter 'h' right in the centre.. the outside is covered in a terracotta colour paint/glaze, the rim has nibbles from lots of use ,the pot is scratched & stained all over which makes me think it was used daily at some time..
I originally thought middle eastern but poss mexican, and I think someone brought it back from their travels..
please!! I would love to know more about its origins & will appreciate any info at all .. EVEN GUESSES!! IDEAS???

this is definitely a water bottle / cup combination from Mexico. i think that this is from Michoacan, although i can't tell you exactly why i think that's where it's from.
