I found this fabulous Flower Vase today that is probably from the late 1800's-early 1900's and it followed me home. I'm not sure who made this beauty but the quality suggests someone highly skilled. It has been blown in a paneled pattern that is also twisted from the four corners along with a deep polished pontil under-base. The colors shade from deep emerald at the bottom and gradually becomes clear near the top. The enameled flowers are thick and raised and there are tiny stems and leaves allover. The rim has been decorated with a gold spray. The actual base is round and is about 1/2" below the bulbous corners. It has a #12 underneath, a lot of age wear and measures 14" tall by 5" around the base. All the owner could tell me is that it had been handed down for many generations. I'd love to hear from the knowledgeable people here at CW on who could have made this "lady". Thanks everyone, RER(BOB)

great piece! I think there is a possibility that it is made in France too, those flowers look like something Legras would do.
Thanks MacArt! You are probably right since Legras/ Mont Joye made very similar vases in the period 1900-1915 that had these elaborate enameled Flowers. The underbase & markings (numbers) are similar to one shown in this vase in an internet link.

This is a "Musset" vase made by the factory of Legras in Saint-Denis (Paris) circa 1899-1900

"Musset" is the original name of this vase (1899 catalog), I don't think there is a particular meaning. The name of Legras' vase came from the history, the geography but they were not give for a particular meaning or link with the decoration
