I have to quit squirreling things away because I tend to forget what I have. The walls are full and I have to either switch out or store any new paintings I find. So this one is stored at the present but I figured I would post it since today was a bust. Nothing much to speak of at the thrifts. Typical as we head into warmer weather and "garage sale " season begins. What I liked about this painting are the colors and the lighting since it's a night scene. This came from the Oberlin GW. I have a hunch this painting was hanging in a great Italian restaurant that recently closed in town. It definitely looks like Italian figures by their clothes and the harbor seems to have Vesuvius looming in the background. The canvas is stapled on a rather thin light stretcher about half the thickness a a conventional one. Purely decorative and unsigned but still a nice painting. -Mike-
