    Hi
Can anybody help identify the timber and chair Origen. I think is Chinese made but maybe in gold rush times around Melbourne.
The timber is very hard and heavy and the dark colour is a stain.
All joints are mortised and the back of the chair is heavily carved with a floral design and a marble splat.
    Photo1 is the armchair
Photo 2 is the timber with stain removed from a small area
Photo 3 is the underside of the seat
Photo 4 is marks on the underside
    Thx
