Secular art which was certainly very rare in anciemt times, differed from religious art only in the sense that the secular object was not ' consecrated" and therefore not "loaded" with spiritual energy.
A secular object does not make the same impression on anyone who is at all sensitive as does an object which has been consecrated and used for ritual. These are authentic African pieces from the West Coast Of Ghana.
