I'm starting to really appreciate toys from the 50s. This Dancing Dude was made by Mattel in the early 50s (52, I think), and he's a heck of a lot of fun. There's a crank handle on the back which, when cranked, makes the Dude dance and plays Turkey In the Straw (it sounds a lot like a jack-in-the-box, too).

The Dude is made of a variety of materials. His face is ceramic, his clothes are cloth, and his feet are cast iron. The base is made of cardboard.
