This is a 5 Gal. Stoneware Crock by Anna Pottery. Brothers Cornwall and W. Wallace Kirkpatrick built and operated a large stoneware pottery in Anna, Illinois from 1859 and 1896. The Kirkpatrick family is best known for their political satire conveyed in their pottery pieces, but their main income came from the sale of everyday pottery such as this great piece of 19th century stoneware.
