Modern Wood Sculpture / Unknown Artist and Age

Salvation Army had this on the shelf last week and I thought it was a bit expensive. It was still there and having struck out every where else today I thought it was interesting enough to buy. It's 10 1/2" tall and 6 " wide but, not signed anywhere. There's just some plain brown felt on the bottom. It appears to be made of some type of dense exotic wood. It has a marbled pattern to it, kind of like burled walnut. I'm not really sure what kind it is. Not very good at identifying different types of wood. Looks like a Modigliani inspired design so maybe it's from the 60's. -Mike-
