Recently found, attributed to Loetz - a nice little cream pitcher (5.5" tall, including the lid), in opal glass that gradates from a yellow green at the bottom to a more bluish green at the top. This is a similar treatment to other early Loetz pieces in opal glass found in pink, yellow, purple and peach tones. This is the first opalescent one I've seen in green. The decor is in the Victorian taste, so I would date to circa 1890. I also have to acknowledge the possibility that it could have been retailed by the likes of Moser (who at the time had their glass blanks provided by other manufacturers)

The decor is very similar to Loetz Dek I/200, except that the florals surrounding the central cartouches form garlands - in Dek I/200, they are more randomly spread about.

I'm tempted to make a pot of coffee or hot tea, just so I can put this little gem to work! :)

Al - that's exactly what I meant! This is a tiny thing - no hot liquids going in there - only half & half :)
