Just had to share this latest find I had from an estate sale. It was an older German man selling his household belongings as he was relocating after his wife passed away.
There wasnt that much left in the house as this was on the last day of a three day weekend sale. Bought some small delft tiles and some souvenier Worlds Fair plates. As we were leaving, I noticed all this garbage piled up at the curb. I saw it was boxes and boxes of vintage Christmas Ornaments. I couldnt believe it. I went back and asked the man if that stuff was being thrown out and he said yes, noone bought it. I said wow,,can I take it, :) he said sure. I gave him a few bucks anyway. All in all it was about 15 boxes of old ornaments. Mostly German,,Shiny Brite US, Poland, West Germany, some have a Woolworth sticker. I dont even know what I have yet. Its overwhelming. Trying to figure out the caps with no markings,,there is boxes and boxes of them. Mostly from the 1940s - 1960s. Indents, stencils, small, large. Well just wanted to share my discovery with you fantastic people.

Thanks for the loves and the comments.
I love these old glass ornaments, couldn't believe they were in the trash.
He had also thrown out a whole bunch of boxes of Christmas lights but I was too excited about these ornaments. They were probably vintage stuff, but I am happy I saved these babies. Glad u enjoy them, and Amber I will definetly post a few more pictures of these ornaments.

These are great ornaments. Don't think they are worth a huge amount of money. Did a quick look of sold auctions on ebay looks like $10-$30. They would greatly enhance any Christmas tree.

I think we had all of these on our tree at one time. The ones in the second picture were always to tempting for little fingers to poke out the centers which broke so easily. We had one purple one left that I always put at the very top of the tree. Ours are long gone too with being broken or moving.

As we get closer yo Christmas the value goes up. Plain shiny Brites now seem to go into crafting...wreaths, and other repurposed holiday delights. Dents, graphics, and the polish vary in price. 3-5 bucks apiece if fancy. They did make SB during WWII. Sometimes with plastic tops, sometimes clear with color...metal...
Don't discount the boxes!! They have value and coolness too!
Yes, I'm a geek for vintage Christmas...
