In this mug, produced in late 1950s to 1960, the words "Shaving Mug" were printed in blue beneath the image of the ship. The ship appears opposite the handle. The bottom is marked "Early American Old Spice" in a top arc with "Shulton " in a bottom arc + # 8. The arcs are separated with a single star on each side
Really nice!
I used a few of these years ago when we still used a shaving brush. You can still buy them around Christmas time. Great nostalgia piece.
fhr I have a old shaving brush if your a needin' one :-))
Great Post reminds me of my Dad and as a little girl trying to lather up my face and shave it lol . Of coarse I was not laughing when he caught me . Nice memories Southcop !
I have my great grandfathers shaving brush somewhere. I just passed along his mustache cup, razor and strop. Protocol is you are the keeper you never sell a family item. Requirements for the mustache cup are that you must have a mustache and you must be right handed (it is a right handed cup) yes there is a left handed one) The razor and strop requires you shave the remainder of your face to get it. It all skipped a generation when it came to me. I just sent it all to a nephew with the rules. He is the new keeper for now. None of it has a dollar value in my mind. All of it has a documented history.
thank you virginia.vintage,fhrjr2,manikin!!
