Here is a simple brass tray - I like it because it's all hand made in a nice quality! It's hammered, and quite heavy.
Since it has a nice patina, I don't know if or how I should clean it!
Clean/polish or not?
It's hallmarked "WW" and "A. B". Above the "WW" there is some kind of symbol - it could be "&" but the lines are not connected.
If it's "&" then maybe the maker could have been called W&W..
All opinions about how to clean (or not clean) old brass are very welcome!
And all suggestions about possible origin too!
its josef Hoffamann
im wrong but it looks like!!
SEAN68 - thank you so much for your suggestion and for the love!!
The Wiener Werkstätte hallmark looks different, so I thought this must be another maker called "WW" or what do you think?
The style of the tray looks influenced by Hoffmann, however.
Your right Katlz and your welcome!! I don't think that this influenced by Hoffmann.
I do think that it is... sorry damn computer
SEAN68 - Haha yes I understand..!!
And many thanks vetraio50 for the fast love!!
LOL!!!!!! :)
A.B. Is used for incorporated companies in Sweden and Denmark.

TubeAmp - thank you so much for your helpfulness!! Yes!! If the tray is scandinavian, AB means "aktiebolag". I could not find a Swedish maker called WW or W&W however... still searching!
Since W is not that common in Swedish names, I thought maybe it could be German or English...
Do you know this site?
