Interesting Post Card From Today's Haul.

You can see this post card in an earlier photo. It caught my attention, so Ann did some quick research. As you can see, they were walking around the world; financing the trip by selling these post cards. The pencil writing on the bottom says, “Bought this from one marked X at Green River, Wyo.”....Helge(?). The one on the left marked with an X, being John A. Vrolyk. I cannot imagine there are very many of these left out there, how many could they carry walking around the world?
Here is a quote we found on line.
From the Denver Post: "On the morning of January 5, at 10 o’clock, John A. Vrolyk, age 26, and Gilbert W'. Kriesz, aged 27, Hollanders, will leave Denver for a trip around the world. They declare they will walk and that they will circle the globe on foot within three years. This will not be the first long distance walk of the young men. Four years ago they walked on a wager over Europe, starting from Rotterdam, and through Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, En^and, Scotland, Ireland and back to Rotterdam in fifteen months’ time. Their equipment will consist of a Kodak and an accordion and they will secure their traveling expenses from the sale of postcards bearing their photos.”
