This was my first purchase of glass not just from Gullaskruf, but Scandinavian makers in general, and it remains a favorite.

A really modernist design, with it's clear foot followed by a shapely belly in Gullaskruf blue, and the foot echoed in the neck design. Just works for me.

This vase is a design by Kjell Blomberg, 1955, model KB55/54. Original sticker on the foot.

Quite small at 160mm (6in) high.

You've got me thinking about what was the first Scandinavian pieces ..... Not sure now. But this is a great entry point!

It was a good start but I ventured away from the better stuff.
I have collected some pretty ordinary pieces here that have the right names (Riihimaki, Kosta Boda ) but don't necessarily have a lot of merit. Maybe I'm maturing? Maybe not...there is all the Japanese stuff, and some of that is pretty ordinary! lol
