There were a ton of garage sales in my area today. However, I didn't get to hit a single one of them until about 2pm. Very rarely is that a good GS time as most of the good stuff is gone. Plus I had to drag the kiddos along which they were sorta good sports about.

    I found nothing.
    And nothing.
Repeat the nothing about 20 times...
The kids turned up the complaining...
Last stop, chippy orange phone, with blue accents. So awesome!

I believe this is a Western Electric 302 from the 30s but not positive. Its really heavy because it's metal. Guessing a long conversation would constitute an upper body workout.

Did the kids know how to use the rotary dial?

I like that it shows it's colour changes through the ages!
    7. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
The kiddos have goofed with it all afternoon. My Mom still has a working rotary phone so not that shocking. It's bright red...in case she need to call the Kremlin. She thinks it's hilarious...and she's right!

You have a Stromberg-Carlson all metal desk set model 1243 manufactured in the late 1930's. This was Stromberg-Carlson version to Western Electric 302.

Ttomtucker! So interesting. As stated not my usual bailiwick so I appreciate the info. Now have direction which is always good :))). Thanks!

From what I've gleaned about my call to Inky, it may be an improvement to the NZ phone equip.

I have never seen a metal phone wow that is unique but sure would not have been on it during a electrical storm . Love orange color . Very unique find :-) xoxo

Now this stands out! It's very nice, just the way it is. Very very nice! If the phone could talk...the stories it could tell.

Hey, oranje(orange) is our national colour! They tried to change it on the flags but red fades to oranje. The royalty won again! Hey, we have a King again.
