I've had this tool quite awhile and no one has been able to give me an exact purpose for this tool . I have Google searched this tool and only found a couple of images and no description . There is rotatable cutting blade to be moved after one point is dulled. Looking down the tube there are two pivoting discs with non parallel axis. Could it be a paper cartridge trimmer, but what are the pivoting discs for ? Tool is marked Bridgeport G I Co. Coin is for size reference.

I reload pistol & rifle but not shotgun & this has me stumped. At 1st I thought it was a shot measure but it isn't. Why do you think it is for reloading shotgun shells? I just can't see the purpose for that. I have shotgun reloading equip. given to me but don't see anything like this.

Maybe the blade is for trimming paper shells? Everyone that has seen this thinks it has something to do with reloading , they could all be wrong, but it's all I've got.

Rusty, I considered that but how do you turn the shell case?

      I'm thinking your other hand!

Let's see Rusty. One is supposed to seat the rim of the shotgun shell in this gadget & turn the rim? How? Certainly not with fingers. I think we are looking in the wrong direction & actually don't see reloading anywhere in the mix.
Another nite without sleep trying to figure out a "What's This".

Jacko, one piece sure looks like it but the question is still there. What's This?

Thanks for the link , I saw the same items before , but the item in question was not described . Also in the photo it looks like another tube is possibly joined this tool. My tool does not show any signs of anything ever being attached to it. Thanks again , we will solve this eventually !

think this is a shell case trimmer with wooden handle missing off it kinda figured that it had to cut something tubular pipe shape with blade made like a modern pipe cutter tool

was meant to say maybe pivoting disc were part of anchoring for handle

I knew it all along & just wondering if y'all could figure it out without my help! If you believe that, I have the Lucas Bridge for sale.(cheap). LOL! Actually I was leaning toward that but saw no way that the length of the cases could be measured & done consistently. Good show that jacko. We might keep you around. LOL

Eye4, even the thought of a baby circumcision instrument came to mind, but the thought made my hands shake so bad, I couldn't type! LOL

Your tool is a brass shotshell trimmer. I have the whole reloader set, I'm pretty sure is the first reloader ever made around the turn of the 20th Century.
