Greetings people, this is my first post here.
I think found a wee treasure on a junk pile recently, a Royal Doulton vase that seems to be in perfect condition. No chips or cracks and is complete with stopper. Shall I place it on the mantle piece and let it collect dust
    again ?
Have I in fact found something collectible or is the junk pile where it really belongs ?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

British-based Royal Doulton produced a number of New Zealand-themed porcelain series including the Kia Ora stoneware (1907), a Maori Art Teaware (1907) and a New Zealand International Exhibition series (1906).

Kia Ora indeed !!...thank you Vetraio for the links, very interesting history on the vase. Could be a bit of a collectible after all. How could I determine its' worth?
    6. vetraio50 vetraio50, 10 years ago
It's collectible. We don't do valuations here. Put it into auction and see what happens? Either that or check out values on the net. Not that hard to do!

I was not meaning a valuation, .... more along the lines of "worth keeping !" Sorry for the misunderstanding. The more I read the more I think it is definitely an item to hang onto. Thanks for your links and comments.

New Zealanders are the main collectors of these wares.

Thank you Inky !....yes, a treasure find does happen every now and again. It is in such good condition after all these years, not even the glazing on the base rim is scratched. Seems to have sat undisturbed on a shelf for a very long time !

Hi, That's definitely collectable :-) Our house is called Kia Ora and the other year I bought a jardiniere in the same style for mothers day from our son. I've not seen any more of this stuff in the UK so it's got to have some worth. I'd certainly but it off you in a moment so it's maybe worth getting a valuation :-) Nice find :-)

Definitely will seek a valuation on it !....but not sure who would be the best to speak to. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations in Melbourne Australia it would be appreciated.

For what it's worth, I paid GBP£125 for a jardiniere/vase of similar size

That seems a good price. I found an auction listing from New Zealand that lists someone buying the same decanter as I have for over AU$1400 ! I need to find a buyer like that !
