    This piece was brought back by a vet from somewhere in the Solomon Islands. It is an access cover which was on the wing of the airplane. This cover was located within the circle of the red rising sun insignia, this explaines why it is red. There are three holes for the screws, and if you look closely you will see Japanese writing. The piece is made of aluminum, and is somewhat crumpled from the impact of the crash. This is a very rare piece.

      Thanks for the heads up on your piece of history (Japanese Zero artifact).
      You have quite a collection! You piece looks much bigger than mine and how cool is that that it's probably the only plate-cover from a zero in any collection--period!
