If my theory holds up, this will be the grand-daddy in my glass collection. The combination of motifs in this bowl, the roses with garlands, and the red ribbon with bows are all found on examples of milk glass produced in Northern Bohemia in the third quarter of the 18th century.
Except for the metal mounts, Das Böhmisches Glas, Band I has examples of decorated milk glass of this type, as does the book From Neuwelt to the Whole World/300 Years of Harrach Glass. This type of decoration was very popular, and was used on white glass all the way up through the first half of the 20th century. I believe this is much older - it has the natural patina of a very old piece. Anyone with more information on this form or the type and style of the metalwork used in the mounts - I would love to hear from you.

No, it's in the Legras book (number 2), this book is about Legras' factory but there is a page with a Baccarat vase.

it's page 224, in the bottom of this page there is 3 milk glass vases, the vase on the right is a Baccarat and I think it look like your (the garlands, the rose, the ribbon,...).
Gary, I looked in the Legras book - I didn't see anything like this shape.
Veloceraptor, I saw the pieces you were referring to in the Legras book, and I see the similarities, as well as some key differences... I guess for me the jury is still out. Thanks for the tip, though - gave me some new directions for my research.
