    I bought this at a thrift store back in 2012 for $6.

    Can anyone tell me if this is an old fashioned wash stand? I'm intrigued by it. Don't know why the hole is at the top and it has holes around it that, I think, accommodate screws.

    I don't know what the holes on the shelf below are for either.

    I'd like to refinish it but would love to identify it first.
