An advantage of travelling to another city for a convention is that you get to shop on the way to and fro. I found this little gem in a flea market. The glass is beautiful, but the horn I find a little creepy. I had one opinion on the maker, but would welcome others. This is rather small piece, only about 5 inches tall. No makers mark, but I'm not surprised.

I have always seen this decor identified as Kralik. Unusual mount! Don't feel too creeped out, though - the antlers were often found after molting, so no deer was necessarily killed to make your vase. ;)

Gary, I believe Alfredo found at least one inkwell that matches this pattern, and he has identified as Kralik. I know that Passau has a lot of unidentified pieces in cabinets out of an abundance of caution - but I have also seen this attributed to no one else but Kralik over the last several years. Does that mean it's correct? Without the kind of documentation that Loetz enjoys, who knows? I suppose if you want the opinion of someone else who might know, you could try to contact Jitka Ln?ni?ková. I don't have her contact info, but someone around here may have it.

      Lnenickova (without the marks) :)

Perhaps. The current curator sees everything with Silesian colored glasses... and no museum is perfect - PMC included. The reason I suggested Jitka is because I believe she met one of the recent tour groups at the Kralik museum in (Lenora?) and seemed to have a good grasp on the subject. I know Alfredo has been to that museum as well.

I just found out that my parents went to the Passau Museum while in Germany a few weeks ago - I almost died when they told me. I have books I desperately wanted from there and shipping is SO expensive. My parents told me 'Oh, we saw lots of your kind of glass...." Argh! It is also on my bucket list. :)
