Found this little 9 1/2 in. bottle vase in our local ancient Salvation army. Not the brand new store I usually shop at. I'm kind of puzzled by this one. Yes, it looks Chinese, but it also has the look of Ruskin pottery. The top is molded very thin with a brown rim. It gradually changes to green as it flows down the neck to the body which seems thicker and denser. It becomes a lavender blue with very faint streaks of blue green. The bottom has no marks but is glazed with green and a bit of brown. The foot ring is plain white and shows some age. I had it out in the sun to take pictures and it washes the subtle colors a bit. The picture of the neck shows the biggest color shift on the whole piece. It's really quite pretty and undamaged. -Mike-

Is that an impressed mark at the bottom right of photo 4?
      Lovely thing.

Thanks vetraio :) ..... I did check very closely with my glasses on and a magnifying glass and there is nothing there. The glaze kind of plays with the light and reflections in the picture. It's so hard to capture the real color and variations on this piece. As you said it is lovely. -Mike-

Thanks id....:)...no crazing at least none that I can see. Usually it's obvious but not on this piece. Don't know if that's good or bad, but at least it's not artificially done.
