I found a beautiful oil painting signed SCH '73 couple of months ago... the fact it was $3.99 made it even prettier :)
Just this morning I was gonna research the "SCH" and possibly find a spot to hang the painting...while searching for any additional info in the corners, bellow the frame I've noticed something didn't fit right on the back...
Well, got very excited when I've realized that there was an another painting behind!!
Quickly removed the nails and removed the extra one...than spot another one---the third one was just a print put between the two paintings, I believe just to protect the surface paint of the hidden one.

It is signed "EM Stevens JR? '38"
Beautiful one! The colors are totally different, then any other painting, even the CSH'73 one..
Please let me know if you could ID any of these 2...
    Thanks!

      AmberRose :)
      Thank you all for love..
Would be great if '38 is 1838! :)

Hahaha! Sorry but it looks 1938 to me. I sniffed around but could not find your artist...however, I notoriously stink at finding artists so my zero means nothing.

Hope killer :) Just kidding lol
I love mysteries, but sometimes long unidentified line up of things is too much..
If one of these 2 can easily be id'd...but 2 mysteries with one treasure purchase!! :)
AR you helped a lot with ur Dalton expertise! !
I have one Greek icon shared here thah has been such a mystery...finally decided to put it up for sale...would probably do the same with the Dalton vase had you not tell me how special that was :)

Well the 73 painting looks ehhh?? BUT the one behind it looks to be by Edward M. Stevens born 1896-1987. Style looks identical, brush strokes.. Check out this:

Senchi, sorry to be a buzz kill, but the link says Edward M StevenSON, not Stevens. Also, yours looks like it says E. M Stevens Jr. Sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. On the plus side, they are both very nice paintings. :-(

      :(
Well it really looked the same style...
I agree, it is such a beautiful painting, much nicer than pic can show.. thank you!! Looking for some cool frame to hang and enjoy its beauty :)

Member of Askart for 10 yrs plus. They don't always add Jr or Sr to listings. You will have to look at style and brush strokes. As a Member I can see more than just those visiting site.
