I have no idea how old but she had it before I was born in 1960. Just trying to get an idea about how old it may be.

I can't help you date it, but that is a beautiful chair!

I have one that is nearly identical to yours that I inherited from my great grandmother and I'm trying to find out more about it. Have you been able to discover anything about your rocker? My mother remembers it being in her grandmother's house since at least 1961. My great grand parents traveled around but we think the rocker was either purchased in NC or PA. I have posted a photo of mine with everything I know about it if you search my name dmurphy you should be able to find it. Hopefully we can figure this mystery out!

I have a chair very similar to yours. I was told over 50 years ago that it came from my 5th. great grandmother. My grandmother was in her 70's at the time. That would place it about from 1830's to 1860.
Could it be a Thomas Day creation?
