Saw Kalex1120 first posting of his Wilhelm intercom. The double diaphragm transmitter was patented by Walter Wilhelm on April 7, 1896. He tried to sell his patent to The Bell System they tested the transmitter and decided it would not suit their purpose. The Wilhelm Telephone Mfg Co was formed in Nov 1898. Wilhelm instruments were furnish with L.M. Ericsson Bi-polar receivers. By 1913 the company ceased operations.

Why are you thanking me? You obviously have a scarce collector's piece. I'm surprised that there haven't been other comments from our old wooden phone collectors. Strange that!

blunderbuss2, I am thanking you for stopping by and making a comment on by show and tell. I don't know how many telephone collectors are on CW. Most of the collectors belong to Antique Telephone Collectors Association and they can also see the old phones there.

Love your old phones! I recently have grabbed onto the hobby of collecting pre 1940 intercom telephones --with the buttons! Do you know much about them? Do you have any old ones...I am always looking :)
      Thanks...

Man..thats a neat setup! I am new to posting on CW...are people allowed to buy and sell or is this strictly for information?
      Thanks...
    23. justahobby, 10 years ago
Just read the info above the comment box and see this is for info only. Still like seeing all of the neat old phones!
    24. ttomtucker ttomtucker, 10 years ago
justahobby, your are correct for info only. If your interested in intercom with push buttons go to antique telephone collectors association. we buy-sell-trade. become a member and talk to collectors who are very knowledgeable on antique telephones.

      Ok...thank you...!

Tom, love the phone, I have one very similar to it. I was wondering if you could point me in the general direction of how to come up with a valuation of it. I only see a couple on the websites I checkEd, but none are as similar to mine as the one posted here. I will be taking a photo of it and posting it in my profile page. Thanks.
