I have an extensive lighter collection also. This is one of the nicest. I have many old vintage Zippo's and a few from the Vietnam war era with different cities GI's were stationed throughout the south stamped on the lighter along with their unit info.

Thank you electobacco. I will be posting other lighters & tobacco cans soon. You have quite a nice collection yourself.
      Kindest regards, Kerry

You are welcome. Thank you so much Kerry. Sounds good! When you have a chance check out the electric lighter I have in my collection. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me on it with the vast knowledge you seem to have on collectables. Have a great evening my friend!

    6. bahamaboy bahamaboy, 14 years ago
No it's actually 14k. Quite a heavy piece.

I have one just like it . Does yours say 14kt.? mine does not say
    8. bahamaboy bahamaboy, 14 years ago
It's funny that you ask because mine doesn't say 14k either but having been around gold for many years, it looked like it was but it wasn't hallmarked. So I just used my test kit and sure enough it tested 14k. I was told by someone years ago that these lighters that are gold were custom ordered pieces and while the vast majority are not gold, there are a few that are. Of course I'm a small collector of lighters and have no idea about the history of the company or this piece in general. Just what I've been told. Which that old saying always holds true. Trust but verify. As you can't always believe that which you are told.
