This unusual gold Victorian locket pendant has a $1o.00 gold coin inside which on one side has a boy's face etched into it. The other side of the locket has a photo of the same boy as a young man (someone from my family). I'm assuming this is a piece of mourning jewelry. Has anyone seen anything like it? Thanks!
I agree, Bogie. The pictures are of my grandmother's first husband, who died when he was still a young man. His mother had this made after he died. Thanks for looking!
kind of spooky do you feel any spirits around its right up my alley
I really like the enamel work on the mummy. Very nice!
I have never seen anything like it, but I love it. I like unique stuff like this. Very NICE!
Thanks Big Dragon Daddy!! I think it is a fairly unusual egyptian revival memorial piece. The Victorians sometimes had a very unique vision didn't they?
Yes they did, I love the symbolism they put into so many of there different forms of art.
Thanks Mcgarret50 for your comment and everyone for the likes and loves!
Wow this is a beauty and very special yet maybe a bit spooky.Great detail !! Great family heirloom wolcott !!!!
Thanks Hedge!!! It is a very unusual, (and yes a bit spooky:) heirloom. His grandmother had it made actually, and she was a real Victorian. The Victorians were really into mourning jewelry, the more elaborate the better!
This just needs to be seen...back to the top !
Cool item !! I love the mummy's :-)
Hi Wolcott1. Must comment on this one. I love Egyptian revival, and the mummy on the front is just perfect. The enamelling is great and the wear over time just adds to its appeal. Gorgeous!!
