I solved this mystery myself.
Greek ceramic pot. First I found the same pattern on a gold Vapheio cup at the metmuseum.org site. that led me to the website http://www.greekceramic.com . I am not sure if this is where this is the company that this pot came from. The potting shed was my mother in laws and she has been gone for awhile. They did not travel, so it was more likely given to them as a gift or an import at a garden green house? This is what a Vapheio cup is. Pair of gold cups found in the tholos tomb of Vapheio in Laconia. The relief representations depict scenes of bull-chasing. They are unique masterpieces of the Crete-Mycenaean metalwork, dated to the first half of the 15th century B.C.
