This pocket watch made by Elgin Watch Co. Illinois circa 1921. It has a sized 12 chrome watch case made by Keystone and movement serial number 24,599,738, grade 384 with 17 jewels.

It has 'treble' Mason symbols on the watch, namely, on the dial, on the case back and 'hidden' on the movement winding wheel itself which is a very unusual feature (picture 4).

I hope you have enjoyed this posting. Please note I have posted the matching watch fob separately.

@geo26e what is the history behind masonic pocket watches and the mason symbols?

@ moowoo12, the earliest masonic texts can be traced back to 1390 and formation of the first masonic grand lodge was in London 1717. Masonic symbolism is used to illustrate the principles which Freemasonry espouses. The symbols are often used to decorate artifacts including timepieces.

@ Alfredo, the term chronometer refers to specific type of timepieces tested and certified to meet certain precision standards. They all have high quality movements hence very expensive. I have a few modern wristwatches that are certified chronometer but do not have any pocket watches with such certification. If you are after a vintage quality chronometer pocket watch, try Hamilton and Omega, they produced some very nice pieces and are also rather reasonably priced.
