Just a quick extract from the Espacenet website, here you can find details of all patent applications made. Using the search criteria Mordan & Co we find this interesting piece. Although the material to be used is not specified I'm pretty sure it will be silver. I'm also pretty certain that this piece was made and is out there somewhere;
281,515. Mordan & Co., Ltd., S., and Bedford, P. L. March 4, 1927. Biscuit boxes; sugar holders.-A receptacle for small articles, which may be used for biscuits or sugar, comprises a horizontally supported cylindrical body a with a lid d conforming in shape to the body and pivoted to swing about the axis thereof. A stop f is provided to limit the movement of the lid which is mounted so that it is held closed by its own weight. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 4460/89.
And as if by magic, this piece has been advertised on eBay.
