I bought this rocking chair from a sale in Orkney, Scotland. Seat and back appear to be plywood with interesting picture on back, appears to be depicting two cherubs supporting the moustache of a god. Any suggestions comments would be much appreciated.

At 1st glance, I thought it was leather. I like the idea of carving thru the 1st layer of veneer to reach a diff. colour wood. "Feather the veneer & it would have a nice textured feel too. May try that or at least pass the idea to a few friends still doing this sort of work. Glad I stopped here.
