My mother gave this to me last year. It was my Maw Maws. I have been collecting tea pots, cups, and sets for many years and I have a habit of writing down the name of the item, who gave it to me or where I bought it and any other special info on a piece of paper then putting it in the tea pot. She could not remember the pattern name. I have tried to search with what information I have but have been unable to come up with it also. Any help would be appreciated. It is an 1894 Limoges France Tea set. It has K.M.D initials then 94 in gold paint I have tried to take a good close up of the floral pattern.
It has tray, creamer, sugar, 2 cups and saucers.
Thanks, Jeannie
It was made by Alfred Lanternier between 1890-1910. The initials belong to the decorator and the date it was painted. You can try replacements.com, however as many of the old patterns didn’t have a name written on them, Replacements just assign a number to the pattern for their own records.
Search under "Lanternier plate pink flowers", as plates are more common and easier to view the pattern. Speaking from my own experience with my inherited pieces and trying to find the pattern name, I would say that, unless you want to add to your set, it’s very time consuming and usually doesn’t pay off!
Thanks for the information maryh1956. That is good advice about continuing the search since I don't plan to get anymore pieces. But at least I have the name Alfred lanternier to put down.
It is a beautiful set and even more special because of your family history.
