My dad acquired this car several years ago in an auction and we would love to know a bit more about it. It is a 1957 Corvette made of resin. It has wire spoke wheels, steel axles and hard rubber tires. The measurements are 25 and 1/2 inches in length; 10 and 1/2 inches in width and 7 and 1/2 inches high. It is fairly heavy and has no markings on it. We have wondered if it was possibly used as a display item. Any information would be appreciated!
Commonly sold at Hobby Lobby stores. Decorators piece.
welcome on board bret and jackie -- hope this site will help you for researching those items that one scratches their heads and ask -- what the heck am i looking at and what is the history -- ditto on what the members are telling you
Welcome to CW. I also agree with the others.
hi my name is Rick and I am from Cincinnati Ohio area I recently acquired a 1957 Volkswagen Beetle convertible production model car that is be exact same size and made the exact same way as your mystery Corvette down to the rubber tires and wires programs and the large large size and heavy weight of it it is so much alike that it even has the maroon and antique white or yellow looking paint job that your Corvette has I believe both of our cars were made by the same person or manufacture probably for a dealership or something along those lines for marketing and purposes I have also exhausted myself looking for information and have unfortunately not been able to find anything due to the sheer size and uniqueness of the item if you could email me at rharkins007@gmail.co maybe we could share notes and together we could solve the mystery of our beautiful vintage model cars. thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
As stated above, They are no more than items made for decor. Hobby Lobby sold/sells them, in many different types of vehicles for around $30.00. You are correct about them probably being made by the same company.
