This Kralik vase, in a double gourd form, is in a decor simply known as 'Swirl' - it is highly iridescent on the textured exterior, but the main body of the glass is actually a very light amethyst glass mottled with dark oxblood red (shown in image 2). Due to the exterior texture and iridescence, it is quite hard to see the oxblood mottling except under certain light. I really like the double gourd shape of this vase; it is a very organic form. It is just over 6" tall, has a cut and polished rim, and no pontil mark.
Love the shape too Michelleb007 and how could you not love that deep lovely colour...gorgeous!....:-)
Thank you, inky! I always have a soft spot for this shape - at first I thought it could be a Rindskopf, but I soon ID'd it as Kralik. I think it will go well with both groups, though! :)
nutsabotas6, thanks so much! :)
