So this is what you buy when you don't want to come home empty handed. Cheap and interesting sometimes has to do. This looks like it's a quality piece with the etching, gilding, and twisted handle and stem, but it's a bit worn and I think the stopper is missing. What I thought was a water mark in the neck feels too rough for that. The etched gilt band is about 40% gone but the spout and the base are still nice. I'm thinking Czech/ Bohemian. The gilt and etching seem a little to fussy for an Italian piece unless it's Venetian than maybe but I'm not sure..

How big Mike?
I have one here similar shape but totally different in colour marked Made in Italy.
Thing is, these were a fashion and I suppose lots of glasshouses made their own version so may be meaningless.
If I get some photos done I will put mine up later.
Thanks Karen and Ken :)...... Oh darn I new I forgot something. It's 12" tall .
My guesses would be:
Empoli (Italy), or Pilgrim or Bombay..............but with the etching.....Not sure.
Posted mine now Mike:

Mine is smaller (9in) and may I say, prettier, and now I look at it the foot is different.
General shape is similar and so is the handle so think whatever maker you wish - I won't disagree! lol
