This is a circa 1950's advertising metal 12" ruler from the Strauss-Rose Carpet Corporation, Chicago, Illinois. - From research I could only find the floor-coverings store was located in the famous Merchandse Mart and was operated by Marshall E. Strauss, who died in 1958. - On the very far right side at the 12" mark is the name Myer Rosenberg / Chicago - who it is assumed to be the manufacturer of the ruler - I could only find some patent references to this individual during the 1940's (apple corer patent & magnifying glass patent). - Numerations and advertising is in green print on base metal and advertises 1950's era floor coverings; "Gulistan Carpets", "Ozite Circle Tread", and "Armstrong Linoleums".

I was looking for anything related to the Strauss-Rose Carpet Corporation as my grandfather, Ralph Rose was the Rose in Strauss-Rose. He was born in 1890 and dies in 1970. I know that the posting of this ruler was from five years ago, but I'd really like to communicate with the person who posted it as I have other Strauss-Rose memorabilia and would like to share information and possibly purchase the ruler if it's available.
