From antiquerose's old photo archives......so Excuse poor pics

Have this - Which I am thinking it *might* be Silver but has turned all black over the years. It kinda looks like a Trumpet vase from what I can find. Again -- I think it might be silver. I think it was hollow and when you look at the base it appears ?? the hollow part might have had some spelter or lead (or something) added for weight. Lots of Black Patina for Age ??? on the vase itself.

I am thinking it is older based upon the style, the black patina, and from what I have found on the Net - but that is *My Own Opinion* (MOO). I see no marks, but they have gotten covered if they were at the bottom where that lead weight was added.

Anyone? Is is silver? Should I try and clean a bit under the bottom? I am just assuming it may be Silver (or Sterling Silver)? Do you think it is old? Any ideas, or thoughts welcomed!!

I will add a link in the comment section so you can get to it without copy/paste the link (makes it easier) .... LOL

    Thanks ;-)

You could try cleaning it with a silver polish then if its silver it'll clean up like new if plated it probably wont :-)

Couldn't see the Elkington, the link is too old, but the first link did have vases very similar to yours. :)
