I found this today, it was the lone finding of the afternoon. I think the colors are great on this piece. This is Cloisonné if I am correct. I do not know much about the art/process. It looks painted to me though...any opinions? Thanks!
Beautiful colors indeed! I've seen the process making cloisonné in China. And of course I could be wrong but it think this is not cloisonné but enamel.
The cloisonné process is as follows. One takes a shape (eg a vase or bowl) of coppre/silver or another metal. Then one brings a pattern of copper wire. The resulting holes/boxes (patterns such as leaves, flowers) fill it with colored fabrics, as they would have it. Then this heated / fried and then rub it over the surface so that the piece looks beautiful smooth. I see in the beautiful colors of this cellar enamel but not the copper edging. See what I mean by my cloisonne vase I brought back from my trip to China and cloisonné salt cellars:

Hello agram, thank you for the information. I was not 100% sure whether this was Cloisonné or not. I am glad you clarified. I see what you mean, with Cloisonné they make tiny sections and then fill in each section individually. Thank you again for your help!!!
You're welcome, I'm glad I could even help you now!
thank you id, always a pleasure!
