I inherited this clock from my grandmother and it says "Daniel Pratt's Son. Boston" on the face. It was shipped to me today. How old is it? It is not currently working. Is it worth getting it back to working order? I have what looks like all the pieces in a box, except the weight chains. It has such a beautiful face on it and appears to be hand painted. I'm am thrilled that I have it in my possession because I remember it as a child in her home in Fitchburg.
What a beautiful clock ! I also love the face . I would surely treasure it . For me just to decorate I would happy if it did not work but we have clock people on site that know about reapirs ect . Thanks for sharing it and welcome to CW.

I am wondering does face turn when clock is running ? and it there another face on bottom of what looks like a wheel she is on ?
According to this CW Article: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/daniel-pratt-neglected-clockmaker-of-reading-massachusetts/ this clock could date from 1871-1880. It has a Moon Phase Dial, a seconds hand and a calendar function (the hand appears to be missing). You would definitely want someone who is well qualified to work on such an old clock. It's impossible to say how much a good overhaul would cost, but it probably won't be cheap. Having the clock in good running order will increase its value, but generally not as much as it will cost to have it fixed. So, as always, the question comes down to what is the clock worth to you?
