I Bought six of these pretty chairs inc two carvers at auction, they were described as stick back chairs BUT they have some unusual characteristics from the usual Windsor stick backs I have viewed online and elsewhere. I can't find anything similar or their make, no markings under seats, no screws, glued joints
They have shaped saddle seats from single piece of wood under the cushions that came with them so have included in photo as very old and frayed.maybe original. There are five upright sticks with an unusual bulbous shape at the lower end of sticks, plus two back stays and one turn to the lower legs with bulbous cross stays. The slim shape of the bow at top of back rest is very early ercol like but I have not been able to identify the rest of chair as ercol.
Can anyone help identify them please, I love them anyway but am very curious to origin before I do anything to renovate them further.
