I found this at the thrift store last night. It weighs a ton! It's kinda beat up, but not coming apart at all. It smells a little weird, like maybe creosote? The drawers stick a tiny bit, but I sanded one down, slathered it with mineral oil, and it slides just fine now. It's so big and sturdy I can use it as a chair/bench in the garage. I know I will find many uses for this little storage unit/tool box.

Nicely made - not sure I would have used plywood though as if it gets wet, yikes. But it looks like the space dividers are cut from aluminum.

Collecting homemade tool boxes is fun (not profitable) but fun none the less. Everyone has their own design in mind to meet their needs and that makes each box one of a kind. I had to get rid of most of mine when I moved to Florida but they are just neat to have. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks guys. It's not going to get wet, aghcollect, as it will stay in my garage. I was thinking of putting it up on the counter, but it really does make a great seat. Oh, and yes, the space dividers are some kind of metal, probably aluminum like you said. I just always wonder, when I find something cool like this, what the back story is. Why would someone put this much into a project, then give it away to a thrift store?? Did they die??
